There once was a hotel that came to be named the Viru. The year was 1972, and there were still two decades or so until the fall of Communism and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Any hotel that was appropriate for foreign visitors also had to be appropriate for the KGB… This museum tells the story of more than just Viru hotel and the KGB: it is a treasure trove of stories of two different worlds…
The Tallinn Television Tower, with its 314 meters in height, is the tallest building in Estonia as well as in all of the Northern Europe. The TV Tower is a renewed great tourist, culture and leisure center.
Your journey in the tower starts with a 3D action-movie about the tower and a fascinating overview of the history of the tower itself and restoration of Estonian independence before heading up to the viewing platform and brasserie-restaurant at the 170-meter level. On top, you can enjoy an interactive exhibition on the greatest achievements of Estonians through the ages.
A special panorama program magnifies the view and gives a short overview of Tallinn interesting sights and areas. inside you can record and broadcast video greetings in the tower’s television studio and memorize the visit with special souvenirs.
